I'm thinking about printing up some personal calling cards with my name, number, and "Non-Player Character" on them.

Too geeky?

Well, yeah. You can't call yourself an NPC. You have to stand there while a GM proclaims it.

Since I don't get it, it's probably just geeky enough.

Too geeky would be if you hesitate to hand someone your card because they might not have enough charisma.

Well it is pretty darn geeky, but it also sounds as if you're calling yourself a person of no consequence, which is perhaps not what you want to convey.

Yeah, I don't get it either.
A PC has free will and makes choices. An NPC is a puppet, an empty suit set up as a plot device.
